Fresh, delicately fragrant nose with nuances of apple blossom; a juicy wine with a clear mineral texture. Excellent balance between aromatic fruit sweetness and racy fruit sweetness.
The Mülheimer Sonnenlay is located on the former Rundeberg of the Mosel, south of Mülheim. The name Sonnenlay is a combination of Sonne and Lay, the Mosel-Franconian word for slate. This would already narrow down the main characteristics of this vineyard; Located in a western orientation, the vineyards, some of which are extremely steep, have a skeletal slate soil that is enriched with sand, stones and clay due to the former course of the Moselle river. This soil combines typical slate minerality with elegant fruit.
