Floral, herbal and gorgeous bright red and black fruit on the nose, The palate is divine with its exquisite purity and balance. Great at the table with both savoury and sweet dishes.

17/20 jancisrobinson.com "Like rolling an onyx marble in your mouth, this dusk-dark wine has no scuffs, no corners, no edges, no end of line. The sweetness is subsumed by the dank, heady, floral decay of peonies and damask rose petals; by the scent of forest floor and rotting logs; by the almost-bitter notes of clove and coffee bean. It is somehow more savoury than sweet, in the way DOP Aceto Balsamico or really beautiful pomegranate molasses is. Its somnolent, still reflectiveness is cut only by the acidity, a conch of tamarind radiating from its heart. Almost smoky – not quite. You could quite possibly sip this with smoked duck, or maple-syrup glazed ham. (TC)"
